Giving back to the Kitsap County community has always been a part of Kitsap Kid’s Dentistry’s mission. In October of 2015, we introduced our Smiles for Kitsap program, the main objectives of which were to raise both money and awareness for local non profit charitable organizations. For our very first period, our topic was “children.” This time, the topic was “veterans,” a topic that means a lot to so many of our patients as many of their parents serve in our country’s Navy. In order to enter to win, one of our county’s local not profits benefiting veterans had to post information about their non profit on our Facebook “Smiles For Kitsap” page. Many of our almost 3,000 Facebook followers and their friends voted on their favorite veteran’s nonprofit, and we are delighted to announce that Soldiers’ Angels was the winner of our $1,500 donation. Soldiers’ Angels is a licensed, non-Profit organization serving Kitsap County, and is endorsed by the national Soldiers’ Angels organization. The donation from our office will help the many homeless and at risk veterans in our community. Soldiers’ Angels intends to use the funds to make hygiene kits and to distribute them at the Kitsap Stand Down in September. We are so excited to have been able to contribute to such a worthwhile organization, and we thank them for their important contributions to our community!
Stay tuned for our next “Smiles For Kitsap” period, which should be up and running in mid April!
