Sunny with a 100% Chance of Feeling Welcome

Kitsap Kid’s Dentistry, as well as the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, recommends that your child visit the dentist by their 1st birthday.

You can make the first visit to our dental office both enjoyable and positive! If old enough, we encourage informing your child of their upcoming visit and tell them that Dr. Banks and her team will explain all procedures and answer any questions.
Please refrain from using words around your child that might cause unnecessary fear, such as “needle”, “shot”, “pull”, “drill” or “hurt”. Our Kitsap Kid’s Dentistry team makes a practice of using words that convey the same message, but are non-threatening and non-anxiety producing for your child.

We invite and encourage you to stay with your child during all cleaning and restorative appointments. Many pediatric dental practices suggest that parents wait in the reception area while their child is being seen. Our philosophy is quite the contrary. We believe that helping parents raise healthy smiles is a partnership between you, your children, and our dental team.

Communication to both parent and child about their total oral health is key to averting future complications and building great dental habits for life. For this reason, we love the opportunity of talking with you and your children together at their appointments.

“Sea” you soon!

Your child will enjoy healthy dental habits when they use these Motivational Charts. Encourage regular brushing or help them break the thumbsucking habit.
